We are myself, my husband and our two sons. Until 17 March 2009 we shared our home in Fellbach, nearby Stuttgart, with our two Ridgebacks Bali and Nala and our two cats. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our Bali in March 2009. So when Nala got her second litter in December 2009 it was definitively clear that the only little girl out of this litter will stay with us. In June 2011 Nala got her third and last litter. And again one little girl stayed with us. Now we have three female Ridgebacks who live together in harmony.

My first contact with a Ridgeback was at the end of 1995 at IRAS in Stuttgart. From the first moment I was absolutely delighted about this tall and beautiful dog - especially because neither his tail nor his ears were cropped. When I found out that this dog was a Ridgeback I tried to get as much information as possible about this breed.
I read a lot about dogs in general and of course a lot about Ridgebacks, gathered information about dog training and how to deal with puppies and at least I searched for people who owned a Ridgeback. After all I could persuade my husband to drive together to the Clubshow of LDRR (today E.L.S.A.) - that was in July 1997. At this Clubshow we met the breeder from whom we got our first Ridgeback Bali in September 1998.
In early September 2005 Nala came to our family. Since a while I was thinking of having a second Ridgeback. During the work with Bali as a search and rescue dog there was not enough time but in October 2004 things changed and I spent some time on breeders homepages. Our children loved the idea to have a second dog, but at this point of time my husband was not quite sure about my thoughts.
As my parents spent some holidays in Rügen in April the "RRCD Specialty Winner Show" took place at the same town. So I asked them for fun to bring me a dog from Rügen. Of course they didn't bring a dog, instead they brought an invitation of a breeder to meet him and his dogs in Iserlohn. This way we got contact to Georg and Irene Marek and actually we could choose a little girl from B-litter in September.
This was "Meranga Grande Bohati Nala", mother of our A-, B- and C-litter.
